In 1947, Armand Frohmann and his brother Henri founded Frohmann Frères, Antwerp, in the Pelikaanstraat, a street which through its two diamond bourses, was to make the city famous as an important world centre for jewellery and the cutting and polishing of diamonds. An imaginative designer, he quickly established his reputation by winning different awards. Armand Frohmann can still be found in the Pelikaanstraat today where in addition to his Salon which sells jewels and watches, he also acts as administrator of the Diamond Club, the oldest diamond house in the world.
