Learn about GARIOD artist, their past and upcoming works offered at auction at Christie's

The firm that came to be known as Léon Gariod found its beginnings in 1859 under the name of Gaucher and Tonnelier. By 1869, Tonnelier was no longer a part of the firm and in 1875, Gaucher and Gariod entered into a partnership. Ultimately, Gariod found himself as the sole owner of the firm established at 28 rue St. Augustin in Paris. He was particularly known for his brooches and pendants in the Art Nouveau style. Also notable are the jewels he created during his association with L. Gautrait towards the turn-of-the-century.
