The firm of Julius Hügler was founded in 1871 by its namesake. It has been located in various buildings in Vienna's Freisingergasse since its inception. Prior to the demise of the Austrian monarchy, they were furnishers to the Imperial Court. Branches were opened in Cairo and Karlsbad, but were closed prior to World War II. The company has always remained in family hands, and is currently located at 53 Kärntnerstrasse.
